Following up their debut release this interesting label calls into action the production expertise of SJunkies who waste no time in getting down to the business of crafting a tight breaks track in the form of "If you stay" . From start to finish the "breaked-up mix" takes us on a soothiong journey hand in hand with sublime melodies and swirling airy fx that draw us in further.

Remix duties are passed on to Jose Zamora who takes it down a notch with a really neat prog take with catch percussive rhythms, uplifting bassline and flosting melodies that control a contrasting moods of deep yet totally lifiting

A fantastic second offering from Only Records

"After their excellent debut, Kaan Duzarat ‘Organic Intellectual’, Romania’s Only imprint are back with a track by Mexican trio S-Junkes. Based in Guadalajara, Eduardo Pinto, Marco Balcazar and Revinant make up this collective of DJs and producers. Their curriculum vitae is impressive enough, having written soundtracks for films and television, and well as DJing and performing live alongside the likes of Infusion, Danny Howells and Christopher Lobsinger.

The ‘Breaked Up’ mix of ‘If You Stay’ is strong. Classic progressive breaks bassline and percussion is joined by gentle pads, hypnotic keys and rhythmic synths, while subtle electro synths echo through the track, to create a fusion melody and funk. This is sure to receive regular airings from Lisle & co.

Jose Zamora, perhaps best known for his remix of Viton & Stel’s ‘Wooden Swordz’, twiddles the studio knobs on the b-side and gives the track a new direction. The straight progressive bassline chugs along while Zamora fans the flames with reverbs, delays and echoes, whipping up a deep, melodic storm.

‘If You Stay’ is a great example of the excellent music being produced in Mexico and Greece. Only Records is only two releases in to it’s life and both are top draw. Number three is eagerly awaited."

After the impressive Kaan Duzarat’s "Organic Intellectual", the Romanian label Only Records brings up on this beginning of 2005 a very fresh release from SJunkes, "If You Stay", which alongside the breaks mix has gained a remix as well coming from Jose Zamora. Two delightful tunes compose a captivating and very solid material, which won’t bore you at all.

The "Breaked Up mix" of "If You Stay" brings an extremely melodic and hypnotic breaks edit, succeeding in maintaining not only the kicking rhythm but the profound melodic line as well. The powerful kicks arrangement composes a dynamic and driving rhythm, whilst the bass line, which discretely contours itself and then more and more powerful, is fascinating, deep and tuneful. Everything calms down when the breakdown enters, bringing a unique and veeery sweet melody which makes the track to shine. With a new element incorporated, the track starts again more controlling and active, coming with new and unique elements and coloring the melodic line. Slowly, the synths start to disappear, flowing into a simple and bouncy breaks rhythm which ends up this great tune.

Jose Zamora’s remix arrives with a nice and sweet progressive which calms down the sizzling atmosphere from the flip side, bringing a deep and simple bass line and contouring therefore a progressive rhythm very melodious and forceful. It’s pretty hard to describe music, to transpose in words the sounds, to make them not only audible but also visible, which can be read – music is a way to gentility, to polish up the spirit, so we don’t have to miss any appointment with this art. Back to our track, this remix is simpler than the original edit, mellower and much hypnotic in the same time, carrying in the front a deep and continuous rhythm, sustained by a profound and somnolent bass line.

Undoubtedly a 12" which must be taken in spotlight, "If You Stay" transports new atmospheric and warm elements into the world of electronic music, and in the same time brings a remarkable material for Only Records’ catalogue.

S Junkes are a new name to me, as is Only Records - based in Romania no less. Both mixes are very solid, with good production on show. On reflection the Jose Zamora mix is the one to go for, with some nice effects in the mix. Definitely worth checking out if you are fan of labels like CP Recordings and Yoshitoshi.

"Both mixes are nice. The original one is some nice crisp breaks and very good. Will play that mix for sure. Thanks for this.  8/10"

Sjunkes – ‘If You Stay’ (ONLY)
I’m not really one for the wishy washy-ness of the progressive breaks, although some can send you to Planet Zorg at the right moment, and the Breaked Up Mix of ‘If You Stay’ is exactly one of those little gems. The Jose Zamora mix on the other hand is a driving atmospheric progster that has ‘end of the night anthem’ written all over it with its stunning bass line and spine tingling melody.M7/M8

After the impressive Kaan Duzarats - Organic Intellectual, the Romanian label Only Records introduces a fresh release from S Junkes, now with a breaks remix and a rendition from Jose Zamora. The Breaked Up mix is an extremely melodic and hypnotic breaks edit, maintaining not only the kicking rhythm but the profound melodic lines as well. The powerful arrangement composes a dynamic and driving rhythm, whilst the bassline contours itself, taking it deeper. Jose Zamoras remix has a sweet progressive edge, calming the sizzling atmosphere of the flip.
